a lack of significance to your life? Do you ever get discouraged with the mundane duties of everyday life? I know I do. The duties I've been given may seem small and insignificant at times. I find myself getting discouraged becuase I don't see dramatic changes. For example, I'm a prayer chaplin at a local chinese food take-out. I pray every Friday morning with the owner of the shop over any prayer requests that are placed in her Prayer Box outside of her shop. I have been doing this for about a year now faithfully and I don't seem to be seeing much change in the community as our prayers have expressed. It can be easy to get discouraged and give up, but I know that the Lord has called me to be faithful in this prayer time but sometimes I let my feelings about my significance affect my attitude toward my duty that the King of Kings has called me to do. Do you ever feel this way about your job or serving your spouse, your children, or any other daily duties you've been called to? Jesus said "Well done, good and faithful servant; you were faithful over a few things, I will make you ruler over many things. Enter into the joy of you lord." I encourage you today to do a little study on the word faithful. What does it mean? What does the Bible say about faithfulness? |
