Tracy's Beauty Blog - Tips, Advice, and secrets of the professionals...

I have suffered from acne since I was 14 years old. Almost every morning I would wake up with a new eruption. It was a source of frustrating in my life, especially when every other skin care line claimed to be the miracle cure for acne. In an effort to find the miracle cure I tried every acne line I could get my hands on and sometimes they did clear up my acne, but it always seemed to come back once my skin became immune to the product. So, here’s the honest truth, there is no cure for acne. The good news is that through years of trial and error I’ve come up with an amazing regimen that keeps it under control while nourishing my skin at the same time.

So let's look at the main causes of acne:

1. Bacteria

2. Over-active sebaceous glands

3. Dead skin build-up

How do we combat these culprits? This is what works for me.

A. With oily skin I must exfoliate daily. I don’t mean scrubbing my skin or using abrasive products. Over stimulating the skin only adds to the problem, so BE GENTLE! I love a product called Bio Exfoliant by Enessa. Bio Exfoliant uses natural, organic enzymes to eat away at the dead skin without scrubbing. I apply the Bio Exfoliant in the shower and leave it on for 30 seconds to one minute. When I wash the product off my skin feels like pure silk! I’m addicted. Enessa is a pure biodynamic skin care line that is absolutely heavenly, without parabens or chemical fillers, just pure goodness.

B. My next step is to combat the bacteria and I do this by applying an all natural clove oil all over my face. Clove essential oil is a natural antibacterial. I use Enessa’s clove oil blend every day. Clove essential oil alone can burn the skin, but Enessa’s clove oil blend is perfect!

C. As far as over-active sebaceous glands are concerned, once I started being gentle with my skin and STOPPED using harsh abrasives and chemicals, my skin became much more balanced. The Jane Iredale Mineral Make-up I use has helped too.

That is how I combat the three main components of acne and YES, my skin is finally clear :). If you have any questions shoot away. Bio ExfoliantClove Oil
