Two Ways to Decrease Next Morning Soreness |
Quite often, we finish a workout and feel good, tired and maybe a bit drained, but good. The next morning; however, is a different story.
And don’t even get me started on two days later… So let’s talk about that. People often ask me if they can avoid that pain. Quite simply,
yes and no. The soreness is caused by multiple factors. I have 2 very easy things to do to decrease the next-morning pain, but it’s not 100% avoidable. 1. Stretching after your workout will help pump the lactic acid out of your muscles more quickly. 2. Taking an Epsom salt bath after your workout will help pull the toxins out of your body that addto the soreness. In conjunction, drink plenty of water to help keep your body hydrated and cleansed. Taking another Epsom salt bath after the soreness has set in can still help decrease the soreness. I know I always love an excuse to take a nice, long bath. So go have a great workout, do 10 minutes of stretching, and then soak in a nice bath.
